Welcome to Strobes in the City: A Portrait and Lighting Workshop! Join Krista Miller, a commercial beauty and fashion photographer, in the heart of Downtown Austin for an afternoon of creativity and inspiration. This hands-on workshop will teach you the art of capturing stunning portraits using strobes in urban settings. You'll practice lighting in both daylight and dusk conditions and will have a better understanding on when to use a strobe and where to place the light for the most flattering portraits.
Learn from an experienced photographer as she shares her tips and tricks for setting up the perfect light, composition, and angles. You'll have an opportunity to work solo and in a group with two different models. Krista will be available for 1:1 instruction and advice while you're photographing, and will be available via email for one week afterward to critique your finished images, if you choose to share.

What you'll get:
4 hours of group instruction with a professional photographer while practicing tips and tricks with two models.
1 on 1 instruction throughout the workshop as you're photographing the models. Instruction will include suggestions on location, lighting (only natural light and reflectors will be used - if you're interested in lighting on location you may like this workshop!), posing, and much more.
Access to the instructor via email for one week after the event for 1 on 1 image critique.
What you'll need:
A DSLR or Mirrorless camera and memory card. (Please no video capture - this is a stills workshop only.)
Transportation to and from the meeting location in downtown Austin.
Exact downtown Austin location will be shared with all registered participants, but will be near 4th and Guadalupe. Workshop will be rescheduled in the event of extreme weather that would threaten the safety of the participants or the integrity of the photo gear. All participants must sign a liability waiver before participating in the workshop.
