Hi! We are the earth club at Freeport Highschool. We are hosting this tree planting event with the objective of planting enough trees to compensate for our school's paper usage. We will be planting trees in the yards of community members in order to offset the amount of paper our school has used. The event date is May 7th, 2022 and our goal is to plant 220 saplings. We are offering three different sapling species: Paper Birch, Pin Oak, and Red Maple. These trees were specially selected to fit Maine's climate conditions. Community members can participate by ordering a tree, signing up to volunteer, or donating to Tree Plenish, the non-profit group that has helped us organize this event.
