UK Industrial legends Attrition headline Stripped in SeptemberFormed in Coventry in 1980 by Martin Bowes and Julia Niblock. The band emerged from the experimental post-punk scene of the early 1980s and, along with other groups such as Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Einstürzende Neubauten, and In the Nursery, greatly contributed to the development of industrial music in the UK. From being part of the DIY and Cassette Culture scene in the 80s through to the release of The Black Mariah, Attririon's diversity has kept them on the cutting edge of dark music since their inception.
Support comes from Novyi Lef, (it's pronounced "No-Wee-Leff")
Taking their name from a 1920's Soviet arts publication, NOVYI LEF (pronounced No-wee Leff) offer an angry, political take on electroclash, plying their trade in architectural punk via analogue synth screams and squeals. The result is a very striking cold electronic sound, almost similar to some aspects of NDW, and early 80s british synth music from the industrial north with a modern twist.
This is all alongside our usual-unusual mix of post punk, industrial, Goth rock, deathrock, EBM, New Wave, Coldwave, Darkwave, Neue Deutsche Hart, and various other alternative musical goodies. From the vault, hot off the press or anywhere inbetween, of course your requests are very welcome.
The Black Bull is on Mulgrave Terrace right across the dual carriageway from Gateshead Interchange, making it accessible to people from a multitude of areas around the north east (Mileage may vary subject to public transport - the hub's on the doorstep at least) and the drinks choices include a range of cask, keg and bottled beers, Ciders, Wines, Soft drinks both hot and cold. something for every one of your 5 senses, and quite possibly your sixth as well.
