From the small Russian village of Anatevka to the streets of New York City, Strings Con Brio will take you on a kaleidoscope journey of great traditional music from the early 19th century to the 20th century. Sarasota Orchestra Young Artist Competition winners Andrii Padkovskyi, violin, and Ethan Nealis, trumpet, will be featured as soloists in works by Felix Mendelssohn and George Gershwin. Nancy Eldridge, Associate Concertmaster of Strings Con Brio, will perform the hauntingly beautiful Theme from Schindler’s List by John Williams. Classical traditions will continue with music from Gustav Mahler and Giacomo Meyerbeer. Selections from Fiddler on the Roof, the Walt Disney megahit Beauty and the Beast, and the iconic West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein will complete the circle of tradition.
