Join us on this special open group event up the third highest peak in England, Helvellyn at 950 meters. Tackling one of the most famous routes in the Lake District and the UK, Striding Edge. Striding Edge is a must do route on everyones tick list ascending this grade 1 scramble with some of the most breath taking views in the whole of Lakeland. Some sections can be by-passed if needed, however the final gentle scrambling section must be completed to gain the summit.
Once we summit Helvellyn we will descend via Swirral Edge (a shorter grade 1 scramble) back down to Red tarn and back to Glenridding
Walking experience is required over rocky and exposed terrain, a head for heights is desirable.
