About this Event

Explore helpful thinking and physical habits for optimal wellbeing!

The demands of everyday life can leave us feeling out of balance, overworked, unhealthy, drained, overwhelmed and stressed, yet research shows that 80 per cent of people do not do anything about it! This workshop will explore sources of stress, but more importantly, how to change our responses to stressful situations. We have all experienced thinking about our problems incessantly, turning them over and over in your mind, playing the “what-if” game, and allowing our worries to overwhelm our emotions and feelings. We get caught in a vicious cycle and can’t switch off. Even if we distract ourselves, the thoughts can still plague us!

This interactive workshop will draw on modern day evidence based psychology practices, ancient yoga wisdom and practical wellbeing strategies to apply daily to deal with every day and long-term stress.

Breath work and movement

For beginners and practitioners. You will learn how to use your breath intentionally for wellbeing and refine the life-enhancing practice of simply breathing properly. You will also experience the relaxing, yet energising benefits of moving your body to the gentle flow of the breath. You can choose to remain seated or on a yoga mat.

Meditation

We will guide you through easy and practical meditation techniques you can take away and practice at home. You will learn how meditation provides insights into the workings of the mind and emotions and how meditation helps you develop clarity and wisdom.

Your Presenters

Madana and Gaura Lila are long term practitioners and teachers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge, wisdom and expertise to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of as many people as possible. Drawing on scientific wisdom and ancient knowledge, they will teach you practical tools you can incorporate into your daily life to bring about change for improved wellbeing and happiness. Their workshops are warm, inspiring, engaging and fun.

Gaura Lila is an experienced yoga/mindfulness/meditation teacher and life-long practitioner. She lives and teaches a yoga/meditation lifestyle for optimal wellness, physically and mentally. She guides others to improve their life by their lifestyle, mindset and healthy eating. Gaura Lila utilizes the breath in her practice to develop calm, awareness and focus. Gaura Lila has run her own yoga studio and taught overseas and interstate. Her approach is warm, inviting and nurturing.

Madana is a teacher and life-long practitioner of yoga and meditation. She delivers self-awareness courses in her role as a vocational educator and is an Ayurveda and wellbeing adviser. Her passion is to inspire and educate people how they can develop awareness, adopt simple lifestyle changes and thinking patterns, and live a happy and fulfilling life. She has presented numerous workshops, seminars and events. Her delivery is informative, inspiring and life changing.
