About this Event

Strengthening Early Literacy Through Social Emotional Learning

This community-driven initiative seeks to build the capacity of Philadelphia’s early childhood educators to support young readers by delivering a literacy-focused professional development (PD) session grounded in social-emotional learning (SEL).

Through this initiative, preschool teachers across Philadelphia, will be trained to implement evidence-based literacy strategies using The Adventures of Froggy-T & Bunnie ~ A Hip Hop Tale book series, which strengthens fluency, phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, and social and emotional development through rhyme and engaging storytelling.

This in-person professional development will consist of insightful discussions, interactive activities, and practical strategies that show the PA Standards in action and help support young learners with their early literacy and social emotional development.

Free books and resources will be given to participants. There will also be a raffle and give aways.
