Join us as we welcome featured poet Iona Lee and a variety of talented local writers to celebrate our zine and exhibition of art by MR.J.
About this Event

BirdsNest Gallery is set apart by its faciliation of interdisciplinary, engaging events. To commemorate our summer exhibition, Auld Reekie Reinvented, we are hosting a poetry reading on Sunday, 4 August, 2:00-4:00 pm. Poets will share their heartfelt work, inspired by connections to Scottish landscapes and landmarks, in conversation with the gallery's display of mixed media pieces by Edinburgh artist MR.J.

Our featured poet is Iona Lee, a writer, artist, music-maker, storyteller, and spoken-word performer from Edinburgh. She has been a prominent member of Scotland's live poetry scene for over ten years, and her debut poetry collection, Anamnesis (2023), was shortlisted for the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award.

We are thrilled about our upcoming zine launch, and a variety of local writers will also share their writing with us, including Lewis Scott Diamond, Mattea Gernentz, Nazaret Ranea, and more.
