The epic dance-off competition returns!Now in its 8th year, Fringe Street Beat is an all-out dance battle featuring top talent from across the Northeast. From Breaking to Krumping and everything in between, crews bring their talent and adrenaline to each eye-popping round, starting with preliminary trials and leading to the final dance battle.

Mike Smith aka Tricky T was born in Montreal and raised in Toronto He became a dancer at the age of 14 after being inspired from seeing dance in person for the first time. Dance has introduced him to a deeper side of hip hop culture which opened up his mind to pursue more knowledge from the pioneers of the craft through community events. With 24+ years of battling experience under his belt, Mike has competed and won battles internationally, and is a sought after competition judge. Mike also stays grounded in the culture by organizing community events and DJing battles, parties, and jams.

Jita the Believer is an all-styles dancer and instructor from Pittsburgh. Jita has had the luxury of being able to perform on big stages at such a young age performing for headline acts and brands including Madonna, B2K, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Twitch gaming service. He has competed over a number of years ever since he began his journey with dance 6 years ago and has fallen in love with battling and the community that comes with it. Jita is a competitive student of dance and has worked tooth and nail to ensure his victory in this world and hopes to imprint his name in the books.

A popper who began their dance journey in 2010 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He trained in tutting and popping and connected but these styles led him down the path to learning the fundamentals of popping. Geno values the creation and exploration that comes with dance as well as the freedom of expression. Mixing illusionary techniques from other styles of dance to harmonize with his main foundation of popping, he has become very successful in the competitive dance realm. After traveling all over the world and acquiring the knowledge of many of the people who came before him he has formulated his own philosophies when it comes to movement. These philosophies and level of understanding have enabled Geno to be able to push to maximize their creativity without feeling as though they aren’t being true to themselves in the process, as well as not disrespecting the foundation that was implemented for us to build off of.
