The epic dance-off competition returns!Now in its 9th year, Fringe Street Beat is an all-out dance battle featuring top talent from across the Northeast. From Breaking to Krumping and everything in between, crews bring their talent and adrenaline to each eye-popping round, starting with preliminary trials and leading to the final dance battle.

Leigh Foaad aka Breeze-Lee was exposed to dance early, which has largely contributed to his knowledge and experience among a large variety of different dance styles ranging from classical ballet to street dance vernacular social dances. Most notably, Leigh found his passion and skill set for a street dance style called “Popping” in 2002. Since then, Leigh has won many national and international competitions gaining him global recognition within the dance community as a dancer, teacher and artist. In addition, Leigh has been working with Rennie Harris Puremovement since 2007 and experienced being a Cultural Ambassador for the United States, touring the Middle East, in 2012. He is currently a Lecturer at UCLA’s Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance teaching Hip Hop dance. Leigh, was selected as a Hip Hop diplomat for the NEXT LEVEL program, which is an initiative of the U.S. Dept. of State, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Meridian International Center that uses Hip Hop music, dance and art to foster cross-cultural creative exchange in diverse communities. As a leader and member of Versa-Style Street Dance Company he is determined to express and share the knowledge and importance of Hip Hop culture, while providing high intensity movement and passion for all artists around him.

Will is a seasoned B-Boy with over 16 years of competitive experience, showcasing his skills on national and international stages, including Taiwan, Japan, The Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK, Canada, and throughout the US.
He has collaborated with industry leaders such as Red Bull, Monster Energy, Nike, and Fujifilm in various prestigious events. In addition to his competitive achievements, he is a distinguished Commercial Dancer, having performed alongside notable artists including Nick Canon, J Balvin, Bebe Rexha, Ashanti, and others.
His professional portfolio also includes prominent campaigns for brands like Johnny Walker, Camel, Nikon, and Reebok. Recently, he’s been seen on-screen in ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’, highlighting his acting abilities. Beyond his accomplishments in Dance, Will is a seasoned Real Estate Investor, specializing in off-market properties and providing invaluable assistance to homeowners navigating challenging financial situations.
In his own words, Real Estate is his Bruce Wayne, and Dancing is his Batman. With a dual passion, he embodies the synergy of dedication and expertise.

A two-time champion of Rochester Fringe Festival's Street Beat, Cleveland based Zay (Brutal) is a core member of the crews BrutalCity (owner/coordinator), 10k Movement (Elite member and creative director), The Kastle, and NBHTFW Co. With over a decade of experience battling, performing, and instructing, Zay specializes in Krump, Hip-Hop, Waving, and Animation styles. In addition to Street Beat, Zay has won numerous individual and team competitions including Lord of the Lands Open styles (2025), Texas edition immortal buck (2025), Pittsburg instinct champion (2024), Indy street Dance State fair (2024), Stomping grounds(2024), Krump revelation of the year (2022).
All three judges will be holding workshops across local universities in Rochester! Keep following for details!
===General Rules/Format===
- In person signups are from 11:30am-12:30pm. If you are signed up online via the Facebook event, I will have your name down, but you still have to check in before 12:30pm or I will cross your name off the list.
- Whenever a dancer goes out, they have up to 1 minute for the round. Commandos/routines allowed for normal battle rounds.
- No more than 3 dancers per crew. If your crew has less than 3, you must still go the full number of rounds. So if the battle is 3 rounds, a 1-person crew would have to go out 3 times.
- Majority judging rules, i.e. 2 ties = tie decision
- In the event of a tie, there will be one extra round. One dancer from each side only; no commandos/routines during tie rounds.
**Prelims**
- Battles will be decided by random drawing of crew names.
- 3 rounds (In a 3v3 situation, each dancer goes out once).
**Cypher Break**
- Judges will then choose and bracket Top 8.
- If there are less than 8 crews, Top 4 will be decided.
**Top 8**
- 6 rounds (In a 3v3 situation, each dancer goes out twice).
- Judges will pick crew to move on.
