About this Event
Wednesday, May 22, 7 p.m. a free evening of strawberry sundaes and community-building conversation toward healing our democracy.
With rising anxiety and division during this election year, we seek practices of hope and connection with our neighbors. This evening will explore some of the “habits of the heart,” to borrow a phrase from the French nineteenth-century observer Alexis de Tocqueville, of what makes for a strong U.S. democracy. The discussion will be guided by resources of the Center of Courage and Renewal and a book by Parker Palmer entitled Healing the Heart of Democracy.
We will share in small-group discussion and envision a way to build relationships that we anticipate lasting well past this fall’s election.
