✨ What to Expect
Join us for a full day of festive fun leading up to the magical moment when Stratford sparkles under her Christmas lights! This is a free, family-friendly event, perfect for all ages.
🎶 Entertainment throughout the day
From 10am onwards, the streets come alive with a festive market, complete with delicious food, sweet treats, mulled wine and handmade gifts.
Expect street theatre, stilt walkers, and more weaving through Bridge Street and Wood Street.
Local choirs and vocal acts will take to the main stage (at the top of Wood Street) from the afternoon, singing Christmas classics.
Father Christmas will make a grand appearance, travelling around the town (stopping at Waterside, Wood Street and High Street).
A photo-op snow globe, festive market stalls, free face painting, free arts and crafts and street food will keep the festive spirit alive all day.
🎇 The Big Switch-On
At approximately 5.30pm, the lights will be switched on - conducted by the Mayor of Stratford and joined by Father Christmas. Let’s count down together and welcome in Christmas in style!
Following the switch-on, music and performances will continue until around 6pm-7pm.
ℹ️ Tips for Visitors
The event is free to attend and no tickets required!
Arrive early - the first hour (10am-11am) is often the calmest if you prefer quieter browsing.
Bring your camera (or phone) for festive photo spots like the giant snow globe on Henley Street and seasonal decor throughout the streets.
Dress warm as it will be chilly in the evening!
Food & drink stalls will be open throughout the event.
Expect road closures and busy foot traffic, we recommend allowing extra time for travel and parking.
