Join us in celebrating the launch of Fashion Business School’s STRAT Magazine Volume 1!
About this Event

We will firstly be joined by Joanna Lowry (The Future Laboratory) who will offer trend forecasting insights and luxury sector macro trends. This will be followed by an in-conversation with STRAT Editor in Chief Hannah Kane and members of the STRAT Editorial team. The team will reflect on their process of launching a multi-platform brand, balancing MA studies with running an industry-facing publication, and the value of hybrid collaboration in today’s fast paced media-landscape. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

ABOUT STRAT:

Founded in Autumn 2022 STRAT Magazine is an extra-curricular collaborative project between the full residency and online courses of the MA Strategic Fashion Marketing at the Fashion Business School, London College of Fashion. Named to reflect the courses’ focus on strategy, as well as the college’s impending move to Stratford for Autumn 2023, the magazine covers a mixture of fashion business content, with insights into consumer culture, market trends, street style and fashion trends, as well as emerging fashion designers and talent from the wider LCF and UAL communities. Under the guidance of Lecturer in Marketing, Hannah Kane, who has a background in publishing as the founder and editor of award-winning style, culture and philosophy magazine PHOENIX, the participating students are organised into several departments: features, art, production, partnerships, and social media to work cooperatively to bring the magazine to life through original prose and photography.

ABOUT JOANNA LOWRY:

Joanna is a brand strategist and futures consultant.

Working primarily with clients in the fashion, luxury and lifestyle sectors, she decodes trends, keeps brands culturally relevant and reimagines products, experiences, communication and design.

Two questions underpin her work: What is changing today? And: How can we shape more sustainable and equitable approaches to tomorrow? To answer them, she draws on a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods — from ethnography and data analytics to semiotics and social listening.

An expert in strategic foresight, she has been quoted in publications including BBC News, ABC News, Forbes, The Financial Times and The Australian Financial Review. Select clients include: Nike, Hermès, Chanel, Prada, Farfetch, LVMH, Shiseido, Mercedes Benz, Spotify, Pinterest
