Strangers on a Train is a psychological thriller adapted into a radio play based on Patricia Highsmith's 1950 novel of the same name, famously adapted for film by Alfred Hitchcock in 1951. The story revolves around a chilling encounter between two men who meet by chance on a train and discuss a hypothetical exchange of murders -- one that quickly turns darkly real.

Bayside Radio Theatre is a performance group dedicated to recreating the golden age of radio dramas, complete with live voice acting, sounds effects, and engaging storytelling. Their productions feature character voice-over players who bring a variety of roles to life, using their vocal talents to convey emotion, drama, and humor — much like the classic radio stars of the past.
A key component of Bayside Radio Theatre is the foley artist, responsible for creating live sound effects that enhance the realism of the performance. Using an array of props—such as footsteps on gravel, doors creaking, or thunderclaps—the foley artist adds an immersive auditory experience, making the audience feel like they’re right in the middle of the story. Together, the character voice actors and the foley artist bring old-time radio plays to life, offering a nostalgic yet dynamic form of entertainment.
NOTE: The Granary is an uninsulated indoor space — dress in layers to stay comfortable.
Registration for Strangers on a Train helps support the Sturgeon Bay Historical Society, Bayside Radio Theatre, and the preservation of the Door County Granary.
