Celebrate the new semester by coming out to the latest edition of the StoryTown Radio Show on Monday, August 25 at 7:00 pm at the McKinney Center. StoryTown performs in the format of a live, old-time radio show complete with sound effects, musical underscoring, live skits, and a great musical guest. This month’s show is all about the “Old College Try: Higher Education Stories.” From dorm life to late night study sessions, and Greek tragedy readings that lead to the cops being called, StoryTown has a bunch of new stories to share. Joining the cast this month are the Flying J’s. This local band blends classic country tunes with a lot of humor. We’ll also have storyteller Andy Offutt Irwin with us. Tickets are only $10 and available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010. This episode is sponsored by Mauk’s of Jonesborough.
The Radio Show is recorded for broadcast on local NPR station WETS 89.5 out of Johnson City, which can be heard the last Wednesday of the month at 8PM. StoryTown is sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission, Gary and Sandee Degner, Trivia with Budds, McLeod Organics, the Wild Women of Jonesborough, and Wolfe Development.
