Come on out to meet our manager Arwen Cayton and all her friends, as they read to your children! All the books being chosen this year are books that were published in 1890 through 1940. This is a free event to the community and a fun way to spend the summer. We are working on adding new things to this event to include some arts and crafts projects, plus some games! You never know what you could learn poking around the museum with Arwen and her team. Reading starts at 11:00 am and ends at 12:00 am. Bring a picnic lunch and stay awhile if you would like.If anyone would like to volunteer and read or play games with our children, please contact the Museum to see how you can become part of our volunteer staff.

We will be practicing COVID Pandemic rules but not enforcing them. This means to be respectful of everyone's needs. I truly do not want my hand to be forced into being the bad guy. We want everyone to feel safe at the Museum, so we ask everyone to please be aware of everyone's personal space at this event. Previous years we have been in the pavilion, but it will be going through some constructions and I do hope by May 25th it will be done and we will be back in there. If not we will be around the porch of the cabin and the blacksmith shop, along with some tents. Please if you have any concerns during this event, talk to our Museum Director, so she can take care of the issue at hand. Now that people are being vaccinated the look of social events will start to change, but please if people get uncomfortable with closeness, allow for social distancing. I know all of this is a sensitive subject, but please lets all be to do all of this and have a great time!
