Be trained by internationally acclaimed comedian-storyteller Jon Bennett in a workshop to learn how to tell a story, what makes a story GOOD, and to leave with a story of your very own with an opportunity to present your story live at the Gorge Speakeasy!
Jon has spent the last 10 years as a professional touring performer performing at over 145 festivals around the globe. He regularly tours with the Moth Main Stage all over the US and internationally, while his stories are often heard on NPR, other radio shows and podcasts around the world. His writing and input has been included in 2 New York Times Best Selling books: Occasional Magic and How to Tell a Story.
In this workshop we’ll share stories, break them down and dissect the process of modern storytelling. We will look at ways to generate stories, find the appropriate structure and learn what it takes to tell an entertaining story or even how to create an entire storytelling show of your own!
Bring a laptop (or pen and paper) and, if you have one, a short story you’d like to work on. This will be an open, supportive environment with no experience necessary and no obligation to perform.
Workshop attendees will have priority for storyteller sign-ups at either the February or March Gorge Speakeasy so they can show off their polished stories. Learn about that monthly event at www.itsangiemarie.com/gorgespeakeasy.Any returning or aspiring storyteller at the Gorge Speakeasy should heavily consider this 4-hour workshop and plan to attend if they'd like to improve their storycraft and performance skills. This is an incredible opportunity to invest in your storytelling future and make your future Speakeasy performances shine!Learn more about Jon Bennett:
