An intimate storytelling workshop to explore and shape true, personal narratives. We will co-create a safe space for challenging topics and experimentation, and you will leave with a basic framework of the storytelling format and a rough draft on a story from your life to tell.

We will start with brainstorming exercises, cover the elements of story structure and performance, and you will receive plenty of personalized feedback for a story you either bring to the workshop or discover during brainstorming. The workshop is capped at 8 people for maximum personalized feedback for every attendee. Discover the transformative power of narrative formation and reframing and build confidence in telling your stories, with a focus on building connection and community. While this workshop is tailored to live personal storytelling, those looking to write their stories will also benefit. All levels are welcome.

Supplies Needed: Attendees should bring a pen and notebook and/or computer, whatever is preferred to to write with. Bringing snacks/light meal is encouraged, but I will ask that eating be contained to break times so as not to disrupt the workshop.

Stephanie is a writer, storyteller, and community builder based in San Francisco. From 2017-2019, they hosted Stories from the city & sea, a live monthly storytelling event, as well as monthly workshops based on their experience. They have worked with a wide range of people, including BIPOC and formerly incarcerated citizens, to bring their stories to life. They hold a B.A. in Creative Writing & Literature from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
