Story travelers, BecoMyth, take you on an adventure across the galaxy where worlds awaken, stories come alive, and you too can become myth. Through the allure of lyrics and lyre, Adam J. N. Keene and Langston Kelly combine their talents to rediscover myths of old while brewing new myths for the modern age.
Their debut showcase titled We Begin In Chaos, weaves togethers two ancient Chinese origin stories through the out of body experience of a 5 year old boy. Through this journey BecoMyth explores what it is about beginnings that makes them both challenging and essential, how one begins when they do not know how, the process that occurs when people begin something new, and what becomes of those undergoing the beginnings process. To that end, BecoMyth turns to some of the oldest stories of beginnings known to humanity, creation myths.
*This show is being sponsored by The Department of Communication Studies and Storytelling at East State Tennessee University. The performance will serve as part of the final project for Graduate Student Adam Keene, who is in the final semester of the Communication Studies and Storytelling Master's of Arts Program.
