About this Event
Amid a charged election season when political candidates and mainstream media alike are highly focused on immigration, often using xenophobic and dehumanizing rhetoric, there is rarely space to hear from immigrants themselves. In this storytelling/listening session hosted by Voice of Witness and The Women’s Building, we’ll center oral histories and stories from immigrant and refugee community members, as well as share calls to actions to support and stand in solidarity with our neighbors.
This event will leave you more informed, engaged, and equipped to advocate for immigrant justice.
About the Hosts:
Voice of Witness (VOW) is an oral history nonprofit that advances human rights by amplifying the stories of people impacted by—and fighting against—injustice. VOW collaborates with partners to document and center community voices, teach ethics-driven storytelling, and develop educational and advocacy resources.
The Women’s Building is the first women owned and led organization that provides essential resources for women to recognize their collective power and self-determination. Our vision is to foster a robust and connected community where everyone has access to the tools they need to thrive in a just and equitable society.
