HAPPY NEW YEAR! We invite storytellers to share moments of clearing out the old to make room for something new. Whether it’s about cleaning up your physical space, breaking free from a toxic relationship, letting go of outdated beliefs, or ditching a bad habit, “Taking Out the Trash” is about the emotional, physical, or metaphorical act of lightening your load.
From the hilarious misadventures of decluttering your home to the emotional journey of ending a friendship or relationship that no longer serves you, this topic encourages reflections on those times you’ve quit a bad job, left a toxic situation, or simply said, “enough is enough.” Maybe it’s about literally cleaning house or learning how to let go of life’s “trash” to focus on what truly matters. These stories can be funny, cathartic, or downright inspiring—because we’ve all got something to take to the curb.
