Come join Kim Weitkamp, one of the nations top storytellers, for a workshop and open disccusion on the art of story.
The Storyteller’s Compass workshop is designed for storytellers and writers of all levels to enhance their skills. The workshop aims to inspire and equip participants with techniques to navigate the artistic process, often marked by challenges and internal struggles.
Whether you express yourself through writing or oral storytelling, on the page or the stage, this workshop provides valuable insights, tools, and practical exercises to invigorate your craft and maintain focus as you work towards your goals.
The workshop is structured as a balanced mix of conversation, lectures, exercises, and personalized coaching.
Kim has been named one of the top 20 coaches in Columbus, Ohio, by Influence Digest. She is an artist mentor through the Ohio Arts Council and she has written and produced 10 award winning albums. She has also written numerous articles for various publications, been the guest editor for Storytelling Magazine, and has written a well recieved Folk Operetta, The Ballad of Ronnie Calloway.
Her favorite thing to do (other than performing)? Coaching writers, storytellers, spoken word artists, and artists in general.
Kim will also be performing a 6pm show the same day, February 8th. It is a "pay what you can" and all funds will be donated to the Damascu Project, a project to help rebuild the zip code of 24236 (Damascus, VA and Taylors Valley, VA) which has been destroyed by Huricanne Helene. 90% of people in Taylors Valley are still displaced and trying to rebuild.
