Story Time: Qing Zhuang presents Rainbow Shopping
Inspired by author and illustrator Qing Zhuang’s experience as a first-generation Chinese American, Rainbow Shopping explores a young child’s feelings of loneliness and discovery with tenderness and humor. Using watercolor, colored pencil, and crayon to beautifully recreate NYC’s Chinatown, Qing fills her book with warmth and details of city life, making this story about a working-class family one that readers can return to again and again. After Qing's reading, we'll be making colorful vegetable prints inspired by the bounty of Chinatown's markets!
