Join us in the museum’s Learning Center for our monthly Museum Story Time program. Aimed at toddler-age children and their grown-ups, we will gather on the first Friday of each month for a music- or Appalachia-related storybook, a tune or two by WBCM Radio Bristol show host Ella Patrick, and a related activity or coloring sheet. This month we will be doing a fun moon plate craft!
For September we will be reading Moon Bound Girl: Harmony's World Tour written by Leigh Ann Agee and Dave Dunseath.
About Moon Bound Girl: Harmony's World Tour
Moon Bound Girl: Harmony's World is a tale of a little girl named Harmony who discovers her passion for singing. She dreams her way around the world and realizes she's not the only one shooting for that big moon in the sky!
Harmony inspires girls of all ages to dare to dream even bigger and be a Moon Bound Girl, too! Based on the whimsical artwork of Leigh Ann Agee, you will travel the globe in a melodic path to the moon as Harmony dreams herself on a World Tour!
About the Authors
Leigh Ann Agee is an artist from Bristol, Tennessee. She is known in the Southeast for her whimsical murals and paintings. While trying to convey feelings of living the dream and doing what she truly loves, she took oil to canvas and created Moon Bound Girl. Since bringing Melody and the other Moon Bound Girls to life, Leigh Ann's mission has been to inspire others to follow their hearts, find their inner passion and shoot for the moon!
Dave Dunseath is a writer, songwriter, and musician living in Nashville, Tennessee. His first book, "Aim Low", was published in 2006. A professional drummer for 30 years, he continues to teach, record, and tour with various artists. Dave is a father of one, a son of two and and brother of three.
