We are beyond thrilled author Kao Kalia Yang accepted our invitation to read at story hour. Kao Kalia Yang is a multi award-winning author and Star Tribune's Artist of the Year in 2024.
Kalia will be sharing her upcoming picture books when she visits us: The Blue House I Loved "A Hmong girl tells the story of her beloved aunt and uncle’s first home in America—long gone, but still alive in the family’s memories" and A Home on the Page, "This extraordinary story from author Kao Kalia Yang and illustrator Seo Kim tenderly explores how a young girl navigates racism and ultimately turns to writing, creating a home for herself on the page—and in the world."
