Emma is an artist, curator, tutor and projects facilitator, whose work is closely connected with communities, and inspired by stories, healing, and evolving, underpinned by the concept of resilience.Emma is currently undertaking an MA in Contemporary Crafts at Hereford College of Arts, which has influenced the making of dolls as objects of healing, inspiration and creativity.
Using needle felting, sewing and found objects, we will create our own 'doll', one which expresses your thoughts, memories, sense of self, and which celebrates you too.
I will be supplying the wool, needles, threads and recycled pieces of material for us to use.
Please feel welcome to also bring along any pieces of fabric, lace, threads etc that you would like to incorporate, as well as any treasured object to add, whether inherited, found, made or bought.
Each time I run these workshops, the finished piece brings a smile; they evolve through the session into something valued, which in turn brings the maker a sense of joy and celebration.
Time: 10:30am - 4:00pm, with an hour's lunch break.
Maximum participants, 12. No experience is necessary.
Cost per person, which includes all materials and refreshments, £45.
You can bring a packed lunch, or visit one of the nearby cafes.
