About this Event
Story crafting workshop - Allison will introduce children to her Laurella Swift historical fantasy trilogy (a series about the time-travelling adventures of a mixed-race London schoolgirl) , explain why she wrote the books and how she used items found in charity shops to help develop the plots.
She will then share writing hints and tips and distribute a range of everyday items to help fire imaginations and encourage children to create their own adventure stories. This session is aimed at children aged between 7-12 and lasts approximately 1 hour.
This lively and fun session links to a variety of themes and areas of the curriculum, including diversity, multiculturalism, families, heritage, history, reading and creative writing.
