On the Old Town tour you will…
— learn how Copenhagen grew from a small fishing village into a center of trade and royalty;
— hear stories of how the city was burned down three times and reborn like a phoenix;
— take a closer look at the facades and notice what the street names hide;
— imagine how the city expanded its borders, and how slender streets grew out of the slums;
— learn about the deeds of the great King Christian IV and other figures who made Copenhagen the city we know today.

On this tour you will find answers to the following questions:
Is it true that Bishop Absalon founded Copenhagen?
Who was King Valdemar named after?
What used to be on the site of the Naval Church?
Why does the most beautiful street have such an unpoetic name?
What does the fish at Vandkunsten’s fountain hold in its mouth?
In which prison did one stay cheerfully and carefree?
What was one sad about on the Bridge of Sighs?
Where is the oldest street sign located?

About your guide:
Svetlana fell in love with Danmark in 2015, the same year she met her future Danish husband. Since then, she has been exploring culture, history and language of this beautiful country. At some point, she realized it was time to share all the knowledge she acquired through her research of the subject. That’s how she started working as a guide in Copenhagen.

Svetlana about her work: “The city is like a painting. You’re reading it layer by layer. You could walk the same street an endless amount of times and then one day you spot beautiful details you haven't noticed before. It can be a small lantern, a king’s monogram or an angel figure. And every time small wonders like that happen, you can feel a new chapter of your relationship with the city is unfolding. The city can see your passion and it’s slightly revealing its secrets to you. All these discoveries I’d like to share with all the guests who are ready to dive into city’s past and present with an open heart”.

See you around!
