About the Event
Come join the eleventh meeting of the Short Story Club! We are a Chinese-English bilingual short story discussion group that meets in Taipei about once every 2 months. During the meeting, we will divide into smaller, language-specific groups to close-read and interpret the text with the support of a series of discussion questions. In this space of sharing and active listening, we hope participants will gain new perspectives from one another while developing as critical readers in conversation. Through our readings, we will also learn about the complex literary, historical, political, and aesthetic themes related to Taiwanese identity.
Please complete a reading of the Chinese or English version of the text before the meeting so you can share your ideas and questions. We recommend having the text with you (e.g. on your phone or as a print-out) to reference during the discussion.
