About this Event
Join us for the first presentation of a live lesson for our project, Stories of Music, led by Cantor Ilan Davidson at Temple Beth El San Pedro. Cantor Davidson, a classically trained theatrical singer and performer, will lead an evening of live music and teaching about the earliest days of Jewish music on Broadway. Stories of Music is a turnkey education project of the Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. Our program provides an opportunity for Jewishpeople to think about their lives and histories in America in new and different ways. Each lesson is designed to engage participants in adult education programs to think about the American Jewish experience through stories of the evolving nature of Jewish music. Our goal is to provide easy to deliver, fully prepared lessons on a broad range of musically related topics.
Made possible with the support of the Azrieli Foundation. Stories of Music is a joint production of the Cantors Assembly and the Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
