About this Event
The construction sector has the passion and capacity to deliver better projects for clients, society and the people that work in the sector. Given the challenges coming up on the horizon - retrofit at scale, decarbonised newbuild and infrastructure, demography, retention, recruitment, skills & training, and constrained finances - it is going to need that passion more than ever. But it’s hard to argue that the construction sector and its clients are really getting all the potential and value that is possible from their current investment in construction.
Do current procurement practices create a ‘race to the bottom’ culture that focuses on price to the detriment of value?
We propose that a client approach based on value and outcome is the most significant change we can drive into construction to unlock its potential. And this event focusses on one of the most fundamental processes that determines what actually happens in practice in a project; procurement, as this determines to what extent a client is benefitting from the productivity, innovation, collaboration, skills and experience that supply chains can bring to a project.
We are delighted to have secured two keynote speakers:
Rebecca Rees, Partner at Trowers & Hamlin, is a leading national expert in public procurement law will explain how to deliver better project outcomes through value-led procurement.
Patrick Hodgson, Commercial Manager at National Highways, will talk about their journey to a more collaborative, outcome-based procurement and how this has changed their relationships with the supply chain to deliver better value projects.
Find out how you can unlock value in your supply chains, what the opportunities are for your organisation and how the Procurement Act 2023 can support you. Network with clients and the supply chain to understand what the next steps might look like and tell us how we can support you.
