PALESTINE, ISLAMOPHOBIA, CIVIL LIBERTIES AND WAR
About this Event
The Stop the War Coaltion was founded over 20 years ago around three essential principles: opposing war and imperialism, standing against Islamophobia, and defending civil liberties. These demands are vital today. The complicity of the British political establishment the Gaza genocide has come alongside the demonisation of the mass movement for Palestine. They are ramping up Islamophobia, and seek to clamp down on our democratic rights.
This national assembly will hear from a range of speakers across a series of plenaries and workshops exploring the key issues facing the movement. How can we maximise our solidarity with Palestine? How do we defend our civil liberties? How do we put an end to militarism and war? Why is Islamophobia so prevalent in politics today - and where does it come from?
