We are beyond excited to announce Stop the Suffering’s 7th annual 5K/1Mile run/walk will be taking place on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Scioto Audubon Metro Park! Registration is now live!Please see the link attached to register.
The race will begin at 9:00 AM; check-in/packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 AM.
Strollers and social, vaccinated, leashed dogs are welcome. Please no retractable/flexi leads.
Can’t make it? No worries, there is a virtual option! You can support STS from anywhere!
We’ve added the option for individual and team fundraising, should you choose to take your participation to the next level!
Each participant will receive a race tee and a finisher’s medal (optional for virtual racers).
We’re also super excited to offer our brand new STS gear, some of which highlights our Haley’s Comet spay and neuter awareness program and our special edition “Will Run for Dogs” apparel!
The annual 5K run/1 mile walk benefits Stop the Suffering, a 501(c)(3) based in Columbus, Ohio that saves animals from shelters and other situations in which their lives may otherwise be at risk. Each year STS adopts out about 500-600 dogs, transports around 4,000 cats and dogs from rural shelters to rescues organizations, and sponsors the vet care, boarding expenses and other costs when needed to help save an animal's life. Additionally, to help control the pet overpopulation crisis, STS is expanding its mission to help rural shelter partners and underprivileged pet parents obtain access to spay and neuter services.
