
About this Event
This hands-on certification course equips participants with essential life-saving skills to control severe bleeding in emergency situations.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to assess scene safety before providing aid
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Evaluating a victim for life-threatening bleeding
- Activating emergency medical services (EMS)
- Stopping severe bleeding using:
- Direct manual pressure
- Wound packing
- Commercial or improvised tourniquets
Participants will learn to recognize the signs of life-threatening external bleeding and apply proven techniques to stop it effectively. The course also covers post-care considerations once bleeding has been controlled.
All training materials are provided.
All students receive a handbook and certificate at the end of class.
According to the CDC, traumatic injury is one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 in the U.S., with severe bleeding being the most treatable cause of trauma-related fatalities.
