January 17, 2022 is the 45th anniversary of the first execution in the modern death penalty era (1972 to present). It is also Martin Luther King Day. Join Death Penalty Action, Red Letter Christians, the Abolitionist Action Committee, exonerees, activists, faith leaders and victims' families for a special "Voices of Experience on the Death Penalty" event in Washington, DC on January 16th. The event will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation (212 East Capitol St NE, Washington, DC) at 6pm EST. You can also attend the livestream.
The following day (Jan 17th), the Abolitionist Action Committee will lead and coordinate direct action protests at the US Supreme Court and the United States Capitol and petition deliveries.
