Come discover the story of Joseph "Buster" Keaton, the great innovator of silent movie comedy.About this Event
Joseph "Buster" Keaton was the great innovator of silent movie comedy. In the 1920s his elaborate movies, crafted with the mind of an engineer, work like hilarious machines, full of stunts and visual tricks, whilst at the centre stood his famously impassive comic character, dubbed the Great Stone Face. In this talk our regular film historian Will Bird delves into Keaton's amazing career and uncovers why it fell apart so dramatically in the early 1930s. To see Keaton at the height of his powers we'll also be showing his extraordinary film Sherlock Junior from 1924.
