About this Event
We invite you to begin your year with community and connection as together we create a stone soup and chat about making soups and broths from kitchen scraps in order to use what we have and keep those scraps out of the landfill! Bring one thing to add to our soup. Bread will be provided.
Stone soup is a European folk tale in which a group of hungry travelers enters a town and the villagers, convinced the travelers are there to steal from them, hide their food and livestock. The travelers build a fire, drop a stone into a pot of water, and invite each villager to contribute just one item to the “soup.” The wary villagers slowly begin bringing out their hidden bits of food to add to the pot, creating a delicious meal for all to share!
