About this Event
Step into the arena for Stomping Ground's THUNDERDOME, our most epic, competition-style improv show. Individual improvisers will face off in a future dystopian comedy battlefield, playing short-form games and scenes until only one remains the ultimate victor. But remember: in improv, victory means supporting your fellow tributes as much as slaying with your own punchlines.
In this three-hour workshop, you’ll:
- Learn and review short-form games (a.k.a. your weapons of choice)
- Practice high-stakes elimination games, panels, and group scenes
- Train for solo challenges that test both skill and swagger
- Master the flow of the show and the mindset of “competing as a character while supporting as an improviser”
Eligibility:To enter the comedy arena, students must have completed Level One Improv at Stomping Ground or another training center—or have equivalent training with permission from our Training Center Director (email [email protected] for more info).
Perks of Training: Students who complete this workshop will be eligible to submit to perform in The THUNDERDOME, held the first Friday of every month. Please note that registration in the workshop is not a guarantee of casting in any individual show.
This workshop is Pay-What-You-Can; the suggested donation is $25-40.
