Butcher's cove is nestled in the stunning South Hams Coastline and this walk along the South West Coast Path will provide you with stunning views at every turn. Starting and ending near Stoke Point we will visit the fascinating ruin of the Church of St Peter the Poor Fisherman before heading off along the coast path with views to Burgh Island, Bolt Tail and the Eddystone Lighthouse. Butchers Cove is reached via a short scramble down rock cut steps and provides a secluded spot for a swim and some lunch before returning via the same route with a different set of beautiful views. As this walk is part of the South West Coast Path there are the expected steep uphill and downhill sections and the paths vary from narrow to the wider sections, some of which make up Revelstoke Drive, a circular carriage ride created in the 1880s by the landowner to take his visitors on spectacular carriage rides. This walk provides not only awe inspiring views but will also leave you feeling you've earned your dinner!Terrain - This walk is mostly on coast path and therefore requires a reasonable level of fitness however there are plenty of spots to stop and take in the view.
