About this Event
For Ages 18+ Immerse yourself in the art of Shibori with our immersive two-day workshop, "Stitch & Dye." This hands-on experience is designed to introduce you to the intricate world of Shibori stitching and dyeing. Over two days, you will learn the traditional Japanese techniques that transform plain fabric into stunning works of art. Day one will focus on stitching the provided fabric. Participants learn methods such as running stitch, ori nui, and maki nui, which are used to create intricate patterns. Day two will focus on preparation and application of indigo dye, as well as steps to set the dye and care for your finished pieces to ensure their longevity and vibrancy. Perfect for beginners and those with some experience in textile arts, this workshop will guide you through the process of creating beautiful, hand stitched fabrics using natural dyes. All supplies are included in the price of the class.
