About this Event
This course involves making a fabric landscape using a variety of techniques.
You will start by sketching out your initial background design and then creating this in fabric. Details are then added using applique or hand embroidery techniques. If you want, you can have a try at some free motion embroidery to add texture, for which tuition will be given. The only limit is your imagination (but don't worry - we have some samples to inspire you if you get stuck!)
A mount and frame for your completed work will be included as part of the class.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and homemade cake are included.
This is an all-day course, so you will need to either bring a packed lunch, or buy something from a local shop on the day.
Length of course: Six hours.
Skill level: Beginner
This project can be completed entirely by hand, entirely by sewing machine, or using a mixture of the two.
As for all of our sewing workshops, if you want to use a sewing machine, you must be able to use one with a reasonable level of skill, as tuition on this basic skill cannot be given as part of this class.
Terms and conditions:
Our workshops are open to individuals aged fourteen and upwards. However, a responsible adult must remain on site at all time with minors.
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
Any further details, along with anything you need to bring with you, will be sent out via email in advance of the scheduled date.
All workshops will begin promptly at the scheduled time, so please ensure that you arrive early enough to get yourself settled in and have a coffee and cake before the class is due to start.
Cancellations:
For cancellations with more than two weeks’ notice, a refund will be given, less a 25% administration fee. Cancellations with less two weeks’ notice are non-refundable, unless we are able to fill your place.
All workshops will clearly be marked as being suitable for beginners, intermediate or advanced. When booking a workshop, you are responsible for assessing your own abilities. Happy Hare cannot be held responsible if you book the wrong level of workshop or do not read the description of the workshop correctly. A refund will not be given for booking a workshop which you later feel is not at the right level for you, unless the cancellation is made more than two weeks’ prior to the scheduled date.
Should we need to cancel a class due to circumstance beyond our control or limited numbers, a full refund will be given. Alternatively, you will be given the option to book onto another workshop.
