Stimson Hospital, also known as the Harriet Chapman Hospital, is a Victorian-style home with three stories and nearly 5,000 feet to explore. The hospital was a 20-bed unit and during her 40-years of services, she saw more than 3,000 babies born and saw more "critical injuries" than any other type.
TIMELINE
**1877--Property was built as a private home by John T. Sweezey
**1917--Dr. Charles Stimson, Dr. Francis R. Blanchard, Dr. William Claudius, along with Bernice Bowman, purchased the home
**1918--Opened the doors of the hospital
**1919--Dr. Blanchard fell 12-feet to his death when he came out of surgery and walked into the empty elevator shaft, not realizing the car wasn't there
**1922--Dr. Puffenberger committed suicide
**1957--The hospital closed
**1970s--The hospital was purchased and turned into four apartments
**2017--Chris and Pam Sturgill purchased the home
