Join collaborating brands Studio Maverik and Silk Laundry for a Still Life Sketching Pop-Up inspired by Silk Laundry's latest collection 'Symbiotic' 𑁍 Engage your senses with flowers, fruits and objects shaped by the 'Symbiotic' collection featuring silken fabrics, abstracted floral prints and a dark, delicate palette.
At our pop-up event, you can enjoy creating artwork in a divinely aesthetic space infused with fashion, artwork and the tradition of still-life arrangements. The event will be hosted by the Brisbane Silk Laundry fashion house in Fortitude Valley and facilitated by the two founders of Studio Maverik. Here's what you can anticipate:
᯽ A lightly guided workshop where you can create a series of still-life sketches inspired by the space around you ~ a meditative and gentle social experience for all to enjoy at any level of creative experience.

Additional Event Details
‣ Drawing materials are supplied such as paper, drawing boards, pencils and markers. You are welcome to bring any additional materials that you wish to use.
‣ Please arrive 10 minutes early to settle in. Class is suitable for ages 18+.

Studio Maverik is a community-focused and inclusive art studio in Meanjin Brisbane. We facilitate pop-up life drawing classes, guided visual art workshops, art and makers markets and other creative industry events. All people are welcome and encouraged to attend our events. Come to chat, draw and learn in a vibrant and welcoming space. Studio Maverik is run by two local artists, Frances & Rhianna. We believe that art is for all, and it brings us together.

Silk Laundry’s first store was here in Brisbane, opening in 2020 in Brisbane, is an evolvement of its pop up on James’ Street in 2018. You can request a refund via your appointment email to open up the spot for another drawer. As this is a one-off event, we cannot swap your ticket for another date.
