Stewards of the Earth

Stewards of the Earth is a two-day community gathering, November 15-16 from 9am-3pm, dedicated to exploring reciprocity, generosity, and mutual flourishing. Together, we’ll learn, listen, and celebrate what it means to care for the land — and for each other — through practices rooted in Indigenous wisdom, community connection, and creative expression.

• BACKYARD VEGGIE GARDENING: cultivating resilience through food sovereignty
• COMMUNITY PARTNERS & NON-PROFITS: connecting with organizations doing environmental and community work & advocacy
• ECO-FRIENDLY ARTISTS & ARTISANS: implementing sustainable methods & materials
• HEALTH CONSCIOUS FOOD VENDORS: using methods & products that are good for the body and the earth
• LANDSCAPE GROUPS, DESIGNERS, & NURSERIES: considering the whole eco-system with care and intention
• GIFT ECONOMY: on America Recycles Day, we practice giving of our own abundance and receiving gifts in kind to meet each other's needs
• ART, WORKSHOPS, & DEMONSTRATIONS: engaging in hands-on practices & discussions

Panel: “All Flourishing is Mutual” (11:30-1:00) with Danny Leivas and Ron Escobar (Chimhuevi Tribe), Alan O'Neill (Former BLM Director & Founder of Get Outdoors Nevada), Carmen Gonzalez (Indigenous Water Wisdom), and Ian Ford-Terry (Springs Preserve) as moderator.

• What kinds of relationships with the earth and each other bring about mutual flourishing ?
• How can indigenous wisdom and practices be a road map for bringing about mutual flourishing?
• What do these practices look like in real life, especially in the face of conflict or (seemingly) competing agendas?
