The City of San Leandro invites the community to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the Steven Taylor Sanctity of Life Pavilion at Marina Park (13791 Monarch Bay Drive). The ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and is open to the public.The Pavilion reflects the City of San Leandro’s commitment to creating meaningful public spaces that promote reflection, healing, and community connection. The project includes enhanced pedestrian pathways, amphitheater-style seating, an outdoor gathering area, and a commissioned public art installation that anchors the site. The public art centerpiece symbolizes humanity and strength, reinforcing the Pavilion’s role as a place of reflection and renewal.
The Pavilion is the result of extensive community engagement, shaped by dialogue and public input over multiple years. The project is fully funded by the City of San Leandro, demonstrating the City’s continued investment in inclusive public spaces that reflect community values.
