Saturday October 4, 10AM – 4PMSlab and Coil Built Platter
In this workshop the student will learn about hand building a platter. They will expand their knowledge of different ways of finishing the surface of the piece by using stencils and layering underglaze colors on the clay to create a dynamic surface design. We will combine slab pieces and coil work to create a one-of-a-kind platter. At the end of the workshop, the student will have a finished piece and the skills and hopefully the inspiration to continue making more art.
Intermediate Level – This workshop is designed for anyone with a working knowledge of the basic techniques of creating a hand-built piece.
