ABOUT THE ARTIST
A trailblazer in the Americana and country music scenes, Steve Earle has built a career on raw honesty, masterful storytelling, and an unwavering commitment to his craft. A protégé of songwriting icons Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle quickly carved out his own path in music history. His 1986 album Guitar Town shot to No. 1 on the country charts, establishing him as a force to be reckoned with and cementing its status as an Americana classic.
Earle’s extensive catalog spans decades, with landmark releases like Copperhead Road (1988) — whose title track was named an official state song of Tennessee in 2023 — The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009), which earned him consecutive GRAMMY® Awards.
Beyond his prolific music career, Earle is an accomplished writer, actor, and producer. He has published the novel I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive and the short story collection Dog House Roses. He has produced albums for icons such as Joan Baez and Lucinda Williams, and his acting credits include roles in HBO’s The Wire and Tremé. In theater, he wrote music for and starred in Coal Country, earning a Drama Desk Award nomination.
A 2020 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and in 2023, Steve was honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music. Earle continues to inspire audiences with his signature grit, poignant lyrics, and unfiltered performances. Fans can also catch him hosting the weekly show Hard Core Troubadour on Sirius Radio’s Outlaw Country channel.
