Steve Brown Poetry Reading with Ludington Writers

Join poet Steve Brown at The Book Mark at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, as he reads and recites from his new poetry collections News of Need and Trample & Sew, and offers stories of their creation and his life, including being the unnatural SeedKeepers Writer-in-residence on Beaver Island this year. The event is free of admission, come as you are, and all are welcome to attend. Books will be for sale and signing after the reading and Q&A, expected to last approximately one hour.
Brown is an engaging presenter whose writing honors the influence of Raymond Carver, Jim Harrison, Philip Levine, and Carl Sandburg. Brown uses plain language to directly address life as it is lived working, adventuring, loving and losing, and sobering up, all with some hope of revelation if not redemption. His writing has the eye of a reporter, the touch of a painter, and the heart of a storyteller.
