The phrase pick up your cross is, for good reason, oft-used in the Church. Ironically, it has become a common cultural adage, meaning something between "man-up" and "don't give up." But what does this command, this admonition from Christ, mean in the fullness of the Gospel? How have we misunderstood these words, even abused ourselves with them in the midst of challenges, and how do they mesh with the rest of Christ's teachings? In learning to pick up our cross daily, we learn to grow in mercy, hope, identity and meaning in our lives, and not simply surviving life's struggles and difficulties.
BIO: Pat is a native of northern Virginia. After graduating from Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, he studied history, religion and literature at the University of Virginia, and then attended its School of Law. He now practices law in northern Virginia, where he lives with his wife and son. He loves to read, watch baseball, hike and fish; and since his reversion to Catholicism, loves talking to people about the love of God and beauty of the Catholic faith. He has helped lead youth, young adult and mens' ministries at St. Theresa's in Ashburn and St. Charles in Arlington, and most recently started a podcast with his best friend called "Cast Right Catholic Podcast."

Covid-19 Restrictions:
1. Seats are limited to 25 people, first come first served.
2. No bar seating will be available.
3. Each table is at least 6 feet apart
4. Groups, so long as its members are together, can sit together. The next group/s will then be 6 feet apart. Please limit large groups to maximize the number of seats available.
5. Anyone with any Covid-19 symptoms should NOT come into the restaurant. Please be respectful of the health and concerns of those around you.
6. Face masks are required upon entering the building, talking to the staff, going to the bathroom, and interacting with other non-household people where a 6ft distance cannot be observed. Otherwise, while seated and dining/drinking, face masks are exempt.

Sterling TOT is held on the second Tuesday of each month at Lost Rhino located at 21730 Red Rum Dr. #142, Ashburn, VA 20147.
All adults (ages 21-39) single and married of all faith backgrounds are invited.
Food and drinks are served starting at 6:30pm, then the talk begins at 7:30pm.
