Come join the SVFC for our annual open house! It will be held at Fire Station 11 on Commerce Street following the 44th Sterling Columbus Day Parade along Sterling Blvd (start time of 10:00am) and runs until 4pm. Come visit us after the parade, and then visit Pueblo Unido Day at the Sterling Community Center (starting at 1pm).You can meet the volunteers, explore our cutting-edge equipment, watch us practice our skills, check out our bounce house, see Sterling's newest fire station, meet Sparky the Fire Dog, and find out how YOU can help us help you! We'll also have fire safety giveaways and T-shirts for sale.
Throughout the day we'll have exciting demonstrations including stove fires, firefighter gear (and a 2 minute drill competition), a ladder truck high angle rescue, forcible entry, and finally vehicle extrication (car cutting) to close out the day.
Commerce Street will be closed for the duration of the event, so plan your route and parking appropriately.
